Surfing till Dark :: San Clemente Pier
Avoiding traffic is always on my mind during the summer. I will carpool with friends or adjust my schedule to ensure I spend the least amount of time on California freeways during rush hour traffic. But sometimes you just have to deal with it, which I did yesterday afternoon.
The surf was in the 2-5 foot range and absolutely pumping. While the wind was blowing hard all afternoon, I knew that if I went surfing right before dark, the wind would die down and the crowds would be leaving. Sure enough, the evening glass off happened with only 5 other guys in the water.
While it isn't quite summer yet, it sure did feel like it as temperatures soared to the low 90F's during the day and humidity dropped rather low. Surfing till dark and watching the sunset from the water is one of my favorites things to do during the summer. Luckily, I got to do it last night and enjoy this fantastically warm weather!
